1. The Island
The biggest
difference between resorts is the island. With the recent opening of Sandals Emerald Bay you now have a choice
of five different islands:
Jamaica 6 resorts
St Lucia 3 resorts
Antigua 1 resort
New Providence Island (Nassau), Bahamas 1
resort
Great Exuma, Bahamas 1 resort
Each island has its own strengths and weaknesses.
We have been to them all and visit most Sandals
Resorts on a regular basis. We also have clients returning from Sandals almost every
week. They provide us with info on the most current conditions.
2. The Water (the kind you play in, not
drink!)
Beaches, swimming pools, diving,
snorkeling, sailing, wind surfing, kayaking, water skiing, and more are included at
Sandals. No individual Sandals Resort is the best for everything.
For example, whether you are "pool people" or "beach people" can
have a huge influence on which Sandals resort is best for you.
Even among "beach people"' the Sandals resort with the beach that is best
for you it what matters. Even the best beaches vary in the amount of public traffic (vendors), privacy, type of
sand, amount of rocks, slope (how fast it gets deep), length, amount of seaweed, numbers of fish (for
snorkelers), amount of wind and waves or lack of, for water skiing, wind surfing, and sailing.
By the way, drinking the water is not an issue at any Sandals. Tap water is
fine to drink and bottled water is always available.
3. The Price (and value)
For some, the biggest consideration. You will usually get the most for your money in Jamaica. Jamaica
almost always offers the lowest airfare. And when comparing rooms, Jamaica will usually be
your best value, especially in the lower categories. From time to time Sandals offers free nights in
higher category rooms on other islands. That can make those rooms great values!
4. The Rooms
Some
Sandals Resorts have lots of beach front rooms, others mostly garden view rooms. You can get the basics about
the rooms by their name and the short description Sandals provides. But you will never get the entire
story.
Even the same room category, such as
"Deluxe", is totally different from property to property. For example,
a Deluxe room at Sandals Negril will have no balcony or patio, no view, and is very small.
A Deluxe room at Sandals Whitehouse will be beach front, have a patio, and is very spacious.
The best way to understand the difference
between the hundreds of room categories that Sandals offers is to talk to us. We never charge a fee to help you
out.

5. And Everything
Else...
What else is important?
Some have a great beach and awesome pools,
but may be located "Off the Beaten Track" and the lack of shopping or town nearby may not suit
you.
Some Sandals Resorts offer better
access to off property activities and sight-seeing
than others.
Jet skiing and
parasailing are popular activities that Sandals does not offer
these. But you won't find vendors for these at every Sandals Resort.
And, what about the Stay at One, Play at the Others? This is easy at some
Sandals Resorts and virtually impossible at others.
